When I started composting at home, I realized that one of my main issues was that everytime the pail was opened the odor of the contents inside would seep out into the room
How could I keep foul odors from leaking out each time I opened the pail?
I explored different mechanisms for opening and closing the pail that would keep foul odors from leaking out, minimize handling and contact of the contents, and improve ease of use while preparing food and while disposing of the contents inside.
The final design improves the indoor composting experience by making it a pleasant and clean process for everyone in the household
It was also designed to be disassembled so that both the plastic and metal can enter their own recycling loops when the product is no longer useful.
